Dubbed SAPwned, these vulnerabilities were disclosed by cloud security firm Wiz and could allow attackers to exploit access tokens and gain unauthorized access to sensitive customer data and internal artifacts. The flaws, responsibly disclosed in January 2024, were promptly addressed by SAP by May 2024, mitigating the immediate risk to users. However, the vulnerabilities highlight significant security gaps that could have enabled attackers to manipulate Docker images, compromise Kubernetes clusters, and potentially access AI models, datasets, and code belonging to other customers.
