LayerX, an Israeli startup focused on browser security, has raised $26 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Glilot+ with participation from Dell Technologies Capital and other investors. This funding brings the company’s total investment to $34 million and aims to bolster corporate growth and global market presence.
Founded in 2022 by Or Eshed and David Weisbrot, LayerX has developed a browser security platform that integrates with any browser. Their Enterprise Browser Extension helps enterprises protect their devices, identities, data, and SaaS applications from various web-borne threats and browsing risks. This includes protection against data leakage, malicious browser extensions, phishing, and account takeovers, which traditional endpoint and network solutions often miss.
LayerX’s innovative solution requires minimal installation time and does not impact employee efficiency, speed, privacy, or the browsing experience. The extension utilizes an AI engine to monitor browser activity and generate insights related to user behavior, enhancing security without compromising user experience. This approach is particularly relevant as browsers become central to employees’ work, making them attractive targets for attackers.
The company employs 30 people, primarily in its R&D center in Israel. The new funding will also see Lior Litwak from Glilot Capital and Yair Snir from Dell Technologies Capital joining the LayerX board. CEO Or Eshed emphasizes that LayerX’s solution protects against threats caused both inadvertently and maliciously by employees or external attackers, anticipating increased risks with the rise of GenAI tools in browser activities.
