Peacock’s AI Olympic Recaps with Al Michaels

Peacock is launching “Your Daily Olympic Recap on Peacock,” a personalized experience using AI technology to enhance coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics. This innovative service, in collaboration with Emmy Award-winning announcer Al Michaels, will offer custom daily highlights narrated by an AI-generated version of Michaels’ voice. Users can select their favorite sports and topics, creating a tailored 10-minute recap from the previous day’s events.

Revealed at NBCUniversal’s press event marking 30 days until the Games, the service will be available to Peacock subscribers starting July 27. Nearly 7 million personalized variants could be streamed, featuring clips from NBCU’s extensive 5,000 hours of live Olympic coverage. This initiative underscores Peacock’s commitment to delivering unique, customer-first features that blend sports and technology for an unparalleled personalized Olympics experience.

Users can access their recaps by visiting Peacock’s Olympic hub and opting into their preferred highlights. The technology will generate a customized playlist reviewed by NBCU editors for quality assurance. Narrated by the AI version of Michaels, the service will be available on supported web browsers and the Peacock app on iOS and iPadOS devices, providing an individualized experience for up to six users per account.

Peacock will also feature companion programming, such as the Gold Zone show and interactive watch parties, to offer comprehensive Olympic coverage. Advanced features like Peacock Live Actions and Discovery Multiview will enable fans to engage with live events innovatively, ensuring they can view the Games according to their interests and schedules. NBCU promises high-quality production, extensive commentator coverage, and special celebrity contributions throughout the Olympics.
