AddComm recently faced a severe ransomware attack that granted cybercriminals access to its customer data and led to system encryption. This incident, which occurred between May 5 and May 17, rendered AddComm’s systems unavailable to customers, causing significant disruptions. The attack became evident to AddComm on May 17 when the systems were encrypted by the attackers.
Immediately following the discovery, AddComm engaged external cybersecurity experts to conduct forensic research and work alongside its IT team. Thanks to their swift actions, the systems have been restored, and customers are gradually being reconnected in a secure manner.
However, the investigation into the security incident is still ongoing, and it remains unclear which specific data was stolen from which customers. Importantly, the attackers no longer have access to AddComm’s systems, and the incident did not compromise customers’ own systems.
AddComm deeply regrets the situation and the distress it may have caused its customers. The company is fully cooperating with law enforcement and is preparing a report for the police. Customers with questions can reach out via a dedicated email address: privacy@addcomm.nl. AddComm is committed to responding to inquiries as swiftly as possible and taking all necessary steps to mitigate the impact of this breach.
