Brockton Area Multi Services Data Breach

Brockton Area Multi Services, Inc. (BAMSI), headquartered in Brockton, MA, recently experienced a significant data breach affecting 23,705 individuals. On April 14, 2024, BAMSI discovered unauthorized access to its network, which compromised sensitive personal information. The exposed data includes full names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, dates of birth, state identification card numbers, account numbers, diagnosis or treatment information, and health insurance information. This incident has raised serious concerns about the security measures in place to protect the sensitive data of BAMSI’s clients.

Upon discovering the breach, BAMSI immediately took action to contain and mitigate the threat. The company enlisted independent cybersecurity experts to conduct a thorough forensic investigation to determine the extent of the breach and to secure its network. The investigation revealed that certain BAMSI data may have been accessed or acquired without authorization. Consequently, BAMSI undertook a comprehensive review of the potentially affected data to identify impacted individuals and confirm their contact details. This review process was completed by April 29, 2024, and notifications were sent to those affected.

BAMSI has implemented additional security measures to enhance its digital defenses and prevent future incidents. The organization is committed to maintaining the trust of its clients and ensuring the privacy and security of all information in its possession. BAMSI has also offered guidance to the affected individuals on how to protect their information. Recommendations include reviewing account statements and explanation of benefits forms, and reporting any suspicious activity to their insurance carriers.

For those seeking more information or assistance, BAMSI has partnered with IDX, a ZeroFox Company, to provide support. Impacted individuals can contact IDX at 1-888-807-8556 or visit https://response.idx.us/BAMSI for further assistance. BAMSI remains dedicated to addressing this incident and reinforcing its commitment to data security and client trust.
