Veracode Acquires Longbow Security

Veracode, a leading software code analysis firm, has announced the acquisition of Longbow Security, a seed-stage startup based in Austin, Texas, focusing on automated root cause analysis technology. While financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, Longbow Security had secured $3 million in funding since its inception in 2019. Veracode’s strategic move to integrate Longbow’s technology into its security solutions signifies a significant step towards enabling security teams to expedite the discovery of cloud and application assets and streamline the assessment of threat exposure through automated issue investigation and root cause analysis.

The acquisition of Longbow Security aligns with Veracode’s vision to provide a more comprehensive view of risk, automate prioritization by severity, and facilitate automated remediation of code security flaws, ultimately resulting in reduced risk and fewer vulnerabilities in both applications and cloud infrastructures. The company seeks to offer its customers unified visibility of risk across applications, code, and cloud, orchestrated remediation from code to cloud, automated root cause analysis to pinpoint the best path to remediation, and continuous monitoring and assessment via real-time vulnerability discovery. By leveraging Longbow’s technology, Veracode aims to bolster its customers’ security posture and enhance their ability to address security vulnerabilities more effectively across their software and cloud environments.

By integrating Longbow’s capabilities, Veracode is positioned to offer a compelling value proposition, empowering security teams to streamline their processes and undertake more proactive and targeted security measures, ultimately strengthening the resilience of their applications and cloud infrastructure in the face of evolving cybersecurity threats.
