ACI and AG Accelerate Payment Modernization

ACI Worldwide and comforte AG have joined forces to expedite payment modernization through global PCI DSS v4.0 Compliance. The retirement of PCI DSS v3.2.1 by March 31, 2024, accentuates the prompt need for businesses to adhere to v4.0 standards which will come into full effect on March 31, 2025. This collaboration is centered on providing customers with the essential tools and features required to meet the new Payment Cards Industry Data Security Standards. Moreover, it positions ACI Worldwide to utilize comforte AG’s data-centric security suite, tested for compatibility with ACI’s service portfolio. This move reinforces core security principles and offers flexibility, guiding organizations to secure account data effectively while empowering them to embrace emerging technologies and fortify protection against cyber threats.

PCI DSS v4.0 introduces new requirements for data security at rest, moving beyond disk-level encryption to protection within applications, which is fulfilled by comforte’s Data Security Platform. This platform inserts a protection layer into applications, buffering for tokenization or encryption of sensitive data, while providing granular audit and control for regulatory compliance without compromising efficiency. The collaboration’s objective is to facilitate seamless transactions across diverse platforms, streamline the compliance process, and enable customers to achieve their security objectives. ACI Worldwide’s Chief Technology Officer, Abe Kuruvilla, emphasized that this partnership resonates with their commitment to providing the highest levels of security and fraud protection to meet the increasing security demand in the dynamic payment landscape. comforte AG’s CEO, Michael J. Deissner, articulated that the combined expertise and solutions of ACI and comforte will not only enhance data security and privacy but also maintain usability for analysis and power business processes.
