Available in both English and Arabic, this Large Language Model (LLM) is built on the Vicuna framework, one of the first open-source LLMs trained with human-generated data. ClimateGPT is positioned as a valuable resource for researchers, policymakers, and business leaders, with its creators emphasizing its potential to generate green ideas.
The model, trained on a vast collection of information sourced from the internet and academic outlets, incorporates details about climate, extreme weather, the Club of Rome’s Earth4All, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. A crucial component is the Erasmus corpus, comprising over 10 billion web pages and millions of freely accessible academic articles, providing a rich foundation for comprehensive insights. With a billion-parameter foundational model and over 300 billion climate-specific tokens, ClimateGPT offers a thorough understanding of how climate change impacts the natural world, society, and the economy. Additionally, its integration with the Hedera blockchain ensures data transparency by creating a public ledger of any changes made to the model.
