TUT University Cyberattack

At the start of January 2024, the Tshwane University of Technology faced a cyberattack, leading to a temporary disruption in user access to university accounts, with no reported compromise of data.

The university took swift action, resetting all login credentials as a precautionary measure.

Though investigations are ongoing, there is currently no evidence of data loss. Users have been advised to reset passwords and enable multi-factor authentication to enhance account security.

This incident serves as a reminder to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding personal information, emphasizing the importance of adopting strong, unique passwords and additional security layers.
