An Indian hacker group called ‘Indian Cyber Force’ launched cyber attacks on Qatar in retaliation for the death sentences handed to eight former Indian Navy officers by a Qatari court in an espionage case. The group claimed to have executed unauthorized server access, leaked credential data, defaced websites, and conducted Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. The hackers also breached Qatar’s CCTV camera web servers.
Furthermore, this cyber offensive followed the recent Qatari court decision to sentence the former naval officers, who were working on a submarine project for Al Dahra company, leading to ongoing negotiations between the Ministry of External Affairs and the Qatar government for the safety of the individuals involved.
In addition to the Qatar incident, the Indian Cyber Force previously claimed responsibility for cyber attacks on Canadian government websites and Palestinian websites. The group also announced hacking the Hamas website during the Israel-Hamas war, targeting more than 200 Palestinian network devices, including schools and hospitals.
Additionally, the group targeted Canadian websites in response to comments by Canadian PM Justin Trudeau on the killings of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The Indian Cyber Force emphasized its opposition to Khalistani terrorists and urged the Canadian government to focus on homeland security instead of making baseless allegations against India.
