Although no systems at Self Regional Healthcare were impacted, the breach involved sensitive information that Medibase managed on behalf of the hospital. Medibase has confirmed that the breach was likely aimed at the company itself rather than the personal information of individuals. They engaged a security firm to investigate and took immediate steps to contain the breach.
Medibase emphasized that no clinical or financial account information was compromised. In response to the incident, Medibase has implemented enhanced security measures, including continuous monitoring and staff training. They are also providing affected individuals with free identity theft protection services through IDX.
