The PQ-REACT Project has launched its second Open Call, titled IMPLEMENT, encouraging quantum innovators to develop solutions to address cryptographic encryption based on traditional algorithms. This initiative, backed by €650,000 in funding, will support four selected proposals, each receiving €162,500 to further their development and implementation. The call targets the advancement of post-quantum cryptography (PQC) to ensure data security as quantum computing technologies evolve. Proposals must be submitted by consortia composed of 2-3 partners, including at least one SME and one tech provider, with a submission deadline set for May 27, 2025, at 17:00 CEST.
The Open Call invites European-eligible entities such as start-ups, SMEs, universities, research centers, and NGOs to submit proposals. These entities must legally operate within Europe to be eligible. Applicants can choose from four key use cases to develop their proposals. These include the smart grid meters pilot, 5G/6G architectures, context agility manager for PQC benchmarking, and Eclipse-Qrisp for PQC.
The purpose of these use cases is to advance the development of quantum-safe solutions, especially in critical sectors such as energy, telecommunications, and cybersecurity.
PQ-REACT has also organized a series of InfoDays and Pitching sessions for participants to learn more about the call. The InfoDays will provide detailed information about the Open Call process, procedures, evaluation criteria, and expectations for applicants. They also offer the opportunity for potential applicants to network, ask questions, and connect with others involved in the quantum innovation community.
Applicants can find all the necessary details, including guidelines, FAQs, and submission instructions, on the PQ-REACT website.
The application form and additional resources are available online for interested entities to review. For any questions or further information, applicants can contact the PQ-REACT team directly through the provided email. This initiative, a part of Horizon Europe’s funding opportunities, is designed to support the European digital transformation by advancing quantum technologies, ensuring digital security, and promoting innovation in critical fields.
