Patria has acquired an open-source data collection product and related business from WithSecure, strengthening its cyber business division. As part of the acquisition, Patria will open a new office in Oulu and bring 10 WithSecure experts into the company. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. Patria plans to incorporate the product into its Battlefield and critical systems offerings.
The acquisition aligns with Patria’s growth strategy, focusing on significant investments in product development, expertise, and services. Patria continues to enhance its cyber solutions, particularly in areas like intelligence, monitoring, and command systems for security-critical customers. The company emphasizes the importance of operational reliability and information security in these fields.
The new office in Oulu will tap into the area’s strong defense industry presence and engineering talent pool. Patria has already established a presence in Oulu through its subsidiary, Senop. This expansion provides an opportunity to access a wider talent base for current and future needs in the defense and cyber sectors.
The Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy has approved the acquisition, which took effect on October 1, 2024. The transaction will not impact Patria’s customer commitments, employment relationships, or other obligations in the business area.
