William Buck Investigates Cyber Incident

KWS Manufacturing Company, LLC recently informed the Attorney General of Maine about a potential data breach. The breach was identified after KWS noticed suspicious activity within its computer systems. Following this discovery, the company launched an investigation to assess the extent of the incident. The investigation confirmed that sensitive personal information may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party.

The breach reportedly occurred between January 24 and January 25, 2025. KWS conducted a thorough review to identify the affected data and individuals.

The exposed information included names, Social Security numbers, addresses, dates of birth, and driver’s license numbers. Additional details that may have been compromised include government-issued IDs, financial information, medical records, and health insurance data.

As part of the response, KWS began notifying affected individuals through data breach notification letters on April 15, 2025. The notification informed recipients about the specific types of sensitive information impacted by the breach. To assist those affected, KWS offered 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services. This service aims to help individuals protect their personal information and mitigate potential risks.

KWS Manufacturing Company, LLC is based in Burleson, Texas, and has been in operation since 1972. The company specializes in designing and manufacturing bulk material handling equipment. It serves a range of industries, including end users, engineering firms, and original equipment manufacturers. With over 1,000 employees, KWS continues to be a key player in the industrial equipment manufacturing sector.
