William Buck Investigates Cyber Incident

Jani-King International, Inc. recently reported a security breach to the California Attorney General, revealing a compromise of sensitive personal information. The breach was detected after a security event impacted Jani-King’s internal systems. The company initiated an investigation to determine the nature of the incident and assess the extent of the damage. Through the investigation, Jani-King confirmed that unauthorized third parties accessed sensitive data between November 26, 2024, and December 21, 2024.

During this period, the unauthorized access led to the potential exposure of personal information including names, Social Security numbers, and addresses. The company has been reviewing the compromised data to determine which specific individuals were affected. Jani-King is working to identify the full scope of the breach and notify impacted parties. While some details regarding the exposed data differ, the breach has affected a range of individuals.

As a response to the breach, Jani-King began mailing breach notification letters to those impacted.

The company has also offered complimentary credit monitoring services to affected individuals. The letters provided recipients with specific details on the types of data exposed and the steps individuals can take to protect their personal information. Jani-King is taking proactive steps to mitigate the effects of the breach and assist those affected.

Jani-King is a commercial cleaning company founded in 1969 and based in Addison, Texas.

The company offers a wide array of cleaning services, including janitorial, disinfecting, and green cleaning, to various industries. With over 120 offices across 10 countries and more than 10,000 employees, Jani-King provides services to sectors such as automotive, hospitality, education, and healthcare. The breach has raised concerns, particularly for individuals whose sensitive data may have been exposed.
