On March 11, 2025, HOLT Group filed a notice of a data breach with the Attorney General of Texas after discovering unauthorized access to consumer information. The breach involved sensitive data, including names, financial account details, driver’s license numbers, and addresses. HOLT Group promptly launched an internal investigation into the incident and began notifying affected individuals. The company is working to provide details on what was compromised and ensure that those impacted by the breach are informed.

The exact cause of the breach remains unclear, as HOLT Group has not yet provided a detailed explanation.

At this stage, the company has not ruled out the possibility of a cyberattack or a third-party data breach through one of its vendors. While the investigation continues, HOLT Group has confirmed that the compromised information varies depending on the individual, potentially including personal and financial details. The company has been working to identify the full scope of the incident.

Once the investigation concludes, HOLT Group will begin sending data breach notification letters to affected individuals.

These letters will detail which specific pieces of information were compromised for each individual. The company’s filing with the Attorney General marks the beginning of this process, although the timing of the notification letters may differ from standard procedures. HOLT Group is taking the necessary steps to ensure affected individuals can take precautions to protect their personal data.

HOLT Group is a diversified company based in Texas, specializing in heavy equipment sales, rentals, and services. The company operates across the construction, energy, and industrial sectors, with a strong presence in equipment distribution, power systems, and site development solutions. With a partnership with Caterpillar, HOLT Group provides machinery and services for industries like construction and transportation. Employing around 5,000 people, HOLT Group generates an estimated $1 billion in annual revenue and plays a significant role in the industrial sector.
