AUTOSUR Breach Exposes Millions of Records

On March 26, 2025, Crossroads Trading Co. filed a formal notice with the Attorney General of Texas regarding a data breach involving unauthorized access to sensitive consumer information. The company revealed that the breach exposed a variety of personal details, including names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and other government-issued IDs. Following the discovery of the breach, Crossroads Trading immediately began investigating the incident and notifying individuals whose data had been compromised. This notification process is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and protect consumers affected by the breach.

The cause of the breach remains unclear, as Crossroads Trading has not provided full details about the incident. However, the company confirmed that an unauthorized third party had accessed its IT network and potentially exposed sensitive consumer data. Upon realizing the breach, Crossroads Trading conducted a thorough review of the compromised files to identify which specific types of information were affected. The company clarified that the types of compromised data vary depending on the individual, with Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and government-issued IDs being some of the most sensitive data at risk.

To help mitigate the potential risks associated with the breach, Crossroads Trading began mailing out data breach notification letters to impacted consumers.

These letters include important information regarding the specific types of data that were exposed in the breach, as well as steps consumers can take to protect themselves. Additionally, Crossroads Trading is offering complimentary credit monitoring services to those affected, ensuring that individuals can take proactive measures to monitor their financial security and prevent identity theft.

Crossroads Trading Co., based in Berkeley, California, is a well-known retailer specializing in the buying, selling, and trading of secondhand and vintage clothing. With a focus on sustainability, the company offers customers the opportunity to buy and sell gently used clothing and accessories, promoting eco-friendly fashion choices. Operating over 35 locations across the United States, Crossroads employs approximately 382 people and generates an estimated $100 million in annual revenue.
