Kewadin Casino Network Halted by Data Breach

Canyon State Electric (CSE), an electrical construction company headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, recently reported a data breach to the Attorney General of Maine. The breach occurred when an unauthorized third party accessed CSE’s account on a third-party human resources software system used by the company. On December 10, 2024, CSE was alerted to the incident and immediately launched an investigation to understand the extent of the breach and identify what information was impacted. The company confirmed that between December 4 and December 10, 2024, personal identifiable information belonging to employees and their dependents may have been accessed.

CSE’s investigation revealed that the unauthorized access may have exposed various types of sensitive personal data, including names, Social Security numbers, addresses, dates of birth, and benefits-related information. Although the investigation is ongoing, the company has been working to identify which individuals were affected by the breach.

The company noted that the information impacted could vary from person to person depending on what data was contained in the breached systems.

To assist those affected by the breach, CSE began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals on February 7, 2025. The notification letters include details on the types of sensitive information that may have been exposed. Additionally, CSE is offering 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services to help protect the individuals from potential identity theft or financial loss.

CSE’s commitment to addressing the issue has included reviewing and strengthening its data protection practices. The company has emphasized that its investigation into the breach is ongoing and that it is taking all necessary steps to prevent future incidents. While the breach has raised concerns about data security, CSE has been proactive in alerting those affected and providing resources to mitigate potential risks associated with the exposure of their personal information.
