The Sistema Intermunicipal de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado (SIAPA) in Guadalajara, Mexico, reported a cyberattack on April 10. The attack compromised their server, affecting administrative services and suspending online payments and website access. SIAPA immediately responded to the issue and initiated legal actions with the State’s Public Prosecutor’s Office against those responsible. The company emphasized its ongoing efforts to address the situation and prevent further disruption.

SIAPA’s website is currently offline, which has caused inconvenience for users trying to make online payments. However, payments can still be made at banks and convenience stores, with users advised to keep receipts for future reference. SIAPA assures that once the issue is resolved, they will inform users when services will return to normal, both online and at physical locations. Customers can visit operational centers and branches for in-person transactions during this time.

The company also outlined the process for filing a complaint with the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Individuals wishing to file a written complaint must provide general information and a detailed description of the events. Three copies of the complaint will be reviewed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and processed accordingly. In cases of in-person reporting, complainants must provide identification and documents to verify ownership and details of the incident.

SIAPA further clarified that due to the system failures, administrative services and payments are temporarily unavailable at its operational centers and branches. The company continues to work with authorities to address the cyberattack and minimize its impact on services. Users are encouraged to stay informed through updates from SIAPA regarding the restoration of their systems and online services.
